Barry Mcgee - Twist

The Bay Area’s most legendary artist Barry Mcgee has earned his right to be well respected in the fine arts community - but don’t forget he also does some of the most fresh and clean handstyles for one of the most sought after sticker art styles out there. Twist is just one of many tags of the graffiti writer who made himself known through drawings, sculptures, and mixed-media installations inspired by folk and urban culture that incorporate elements such as empty liquor bottles and spray-paint cans, tagged signs, wrenches, and scrap wood or metal. McGee and his wife, artist Margaret Kilgallen were featured in the film Beautiful Losers, if you saw that. It’s a good watch and brings context to the time.
